Michael P. Fleming, former Harris County Attorney, has been a practicing attorney in the Houston area for 22 years. He founded the litigation law firm of Michael P. Fleming & Associates, P.C.  Mr. Fleming was elected Harris County Attorney in 1996 and re-elected in 2000.  In that capacity, he managed a staff of over 240 and an annual budget of thirteen million dollars.  His office provided civil legal representation to Harris County, Texas, and all of its departments, elected officials and employees, including those of the Harris County Hospital District, Harris County Sheriff's Department, Harris County Toll Road Authority, Harris County Flood Control District and Harris County Children's Protective Services.

Mr. Fleming has represented clients in the state and federal trial and appellate courts, including arguing and winning cases before The Supreme Court of the United States and United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit.  He is Board Certified as a specialist in Personal Injury Trial Law and Real Estate Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization and is rated AV by Martindale-Hubbell.  He is also certified as a mediator.

He is a member of the board of directors of the University of Saint Thomas and a former member of the board of advisors for Incarnate Word Academy. He is also a life member and founding director of the Irish Society of Houston and a Fellow of the Texas Bar Foundation. His biography has been published in Who's Who in the World, Who's Who in America and Who's Who in American Law.

Mr. Fleming received his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Saint Thomas in Houston and his Juris Doctorate from the University of Houston College of Law.  He and his wife, Natalie, have six children and reside in Houston.
