Tom Sprague is a member of the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees. Representing the entertainment and hospitality industry in Harris County for the past 30 years, Mr. Sprague served as President and Business Manager for Stage Local 51. While working as a representative for the International office, he helped in the formation of the Studio Mechanics Union (Local 484) for film workers in the State of Texas. During this time he also worked backstage with Houston's finest entertainment venues. Mr. Sprague grew up in Amityville, New York. He is a Viet Nam era veteran, having served in the U. S. Navy as a member of VP-47, home-based in California. He graduated from San Jose State University with a B.S. in Business, Accounting degree. After moving to Houston in 1979, he met his wife, Cheryl. They have a son, a daughter and six grandchildren. He has served on the Executive Board of the Harris County AFL-CIO. As a proud member of the Texas Association of Sports Officials, he has worked many athletic events within Harris County. He has worked for Spring/Klein Sports Association, Spring Branch Memorial Sports Association, NW 45 Sports Association, and Humble Sports Association. He has officiated many high school baseball and volleyball contests as a member of TASO.
