At the law firm of Sara Leon & Associates in Houston, Martye Kendrick focuses her practice on corporate and real estate lending, and represents municipal utility districts and other water districts, water supply corporations, public utilities, cities and special districts. Martye advises her public law and city clients at the board and city council level and serves as bond counsel and special tax counsel for tax-exempt bond financings. She also advises clients on the full range of real estate matters, including acquisitions and dispositions, easement and right-of-way acquisitions, land use, annexation and condemnation.

Martye serves as a Board member of the City of Houston Water Adjustment Board, and of the Harris County – Houston Sports Authority. She has participated in low income tax clinics, representing low income individuals before the Internal Revenue Servie and in Tax Court.

She received a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Government from Trinity University-Washington in 2001; a Juris Doctorate from the Howard University School of Law in 2004; and a Master of Laws in Taxation from the University of Denver in 2011.

Martye is licensed to practice in Colorado and Texas, and is a member of the Colorado Bar Association and the Texas Bar Association. She is also admitted to practice before the United States Tax Court. Martye is a member of the National Association of Bond Lawyers.
