Celebration of Athletes
Know Before You Go

What to Expect
- World-Class Competition: Young athletes from across the country will showcase their talents in a variety of sports.
- Multiple Premier Venues: Houston’s top-tier sports facilities will host events, providing an unforgettable experience for athletes and fans alike.
Houston: A Home for Champions
In addition to the collegiate and professional championships frequenting the city, Houston has also established itself as a premier destination for youth athletics. Houston previously hosted the AAU Junior Olympic Games in 2012, 2016 and 2021, and after this year’s edition is already slated to host again in 2027 and 2031.
The Games are a showcase of talent for roughly 15,000 youth participants from around the country, as well as a showcase for the city of Houston itself. With top-tier venues to host more than a dozen unique sports, abundant lodging options, world-class restaurants and attractions, and experienced event teams to create an unforgettable experience for participants, Houston is where unforgettable memories happen.

This year’s Legacy Project continues our valued partnership with TIRR Memorial Hermann Adapted Sports. Funds will be raised through official program sales, on-site donations, and a special exhibition race featuring athletes from Junior Hotwheels Wheelchair Basketball Teams. The race will take place Saturday, August 2 in the afternoon at Turner Stadium.
Proceeds will benefit:
- Adapted sports equipment.
- Education and training.
- Support for inclusion, access, and long-term development of youth athletes with disabilities.
- Junior Hotwheels Wheelchair Basketball Teams.
