The 2021 Games mark the third time in nine years that Houston has hosted the showcase event. It’s the largest national multi-sport event for youth in the United States. \n* The AAU JOs debuted in the Bayou City in 2012 and drew 13\,380 participants. It was a hit with city\, spectators and participants and brought an economic impact of $35.4 million to the area \n* Four years later\, the 2016 AAU JOs drew 14\,057 athletes to Houston for the 50th anniversary of the Games. The anniversary event brought an economic impact of $51.7 million to the area. \n* This year’s games will be highlighted\, as always by Track and Field\, but athletes will also participate in Wrestling\, Baton Twirling\, Swimming\, and Pickleball \n* It’s a great way to volunteer and see some future stars! We had more than 1\,000 hardworking volunteers turn out and help make 2012 and 2016 a success. We can’t do it without you.
