Another major sporting event could be coming to Houston.
Houston has formally entered the applicant phase for the 2031 Men’s Rugby World Cup host selection process, making it one of 27 cities and areas expressing interest in hosting the tournament, the Harris County Houston Sports Authority said. The U.S. was first awarded the 2031 Rugby World Cup in 2022. It will be the first time the tournament has ever been played in North or South America.
