HOUSTON, TX – In a spirited lead-up to the 2025 Olympic and Paralympic Day, a check presentation took place at DICK’s House of Sport on June 11, coinciding with the International Day of Play. The celebration welcomed 30 children from the ReVision program, who eagerly participated in a series of athletic activities.

One of the highlights was a dynamic breaking session led by Jeffery Louis, a 2024 Olympic silver medalist and ReVision program alumnus, who taught the kids core techniques of the sport. Marlene Bruten, a 1988 Olympic swimmer, also brought her expertise to the event, leading a swimming warm-up station and inspiring the young participants with her Olympic journey.

Our 2025 Olympic and Paralympic Day is made possible thanks to the generous support of our sponsors DICK’s, HEB, Puma, and Region’s Bank who share a strong commitment to promoting physical activity and sports engagement among youth.

This event marked the beginning of a new partnership with ReVision, an organization focused on empowering youth through sport and mentorship. The collaboration will continue with a full Olympic and Paralympic Day celebration on June 23, which will feature a variety of sports and activities, with a special emphasis on soccer in anticipation of the FIFA World Cup 2026™.

As momentum builds for the upcoming celebration, the continued support from community sponsors and partners is paving the way for a more active and inclusive future in youth sports.
