The versatile ballpark is home to the Houston Astros and has hosted the home games in three World Series (2005, 2017, 2019) and the 2004 MLB All-Star Game. Minute Maid hosts the annual Houston College Classic in February which features the University of Houston and Rice University teams against top teams from the Big 12 and other top programs from around the nation including SEC member Texas A&M. While primarily a baseball venue, it has hosted cricket matches, the WWE’s Royal Rumble, boxing matches and numerous concerts including Jimmy Buffet, Paul McCartney, Taylor Swift, Beyoncé and Jay-Z, and The Eagles. Minute Maid also hosted the 2006 CONCACAF Champions prior to the opening of PNC Stadium in 2012.

Parking & Tailgating Information

  • Public Parking: There are almost 25,000 parking spaces available in a walkable distance from the ballpark. Some Downtown restaurants and hotels offer shuttle service.
  • Private Parking: Parking Lot C at Minute Maid Park is available for pre-paid parking. Tickets can be purchased on Ticketmaster.com through the Houston Astros website. All Lot C parking passes are $15. As a general rule, gates open 1.5 hours before the first pitch. Gate schedule is as follows: Sunday 1:05pm – gates open at 11:30am, Weekday 7:05pm – gates open at 5:30pm, Weekday 1:05pm – gates open at 11:30am, Saturday 6:05pm – gates open at 4:40pm.

 

Venue Policies

  • Fans are allowed to re-enter only until the first pitch of the game. Once the game has begun, tickets will not be scanned for re-entry. 
  • No refunds or exchanges are given for Astros tickets.
  • All bags, purses, and containers will be searched prior to entry. Guests entering the Park may also be subject to inspection by random metal-detection wand.
  • Guests are not allowed to bring alcohol into or out of the Club and Suite levels, as well as the ballpark on the whole.
  • Animals, except for trained dogs or service animals assisting visitors with disabilities, are not permitted on Minute Maid Property.
  • Fans age 2 and under may be admitted to Astros games without an admission ticket, but they must sit in the lap of an accompanying adult.
  • Prohibited items: aerosol cans, alcohol, animals, bags larger than 16″ x 16″ x 8″, banners or signs larger than 3′ x 2′, beverages and containers other than factory-sealed plastic water bottles 1 liter or less, cameras with lenses larger than 4.5 inches, clothing deemed obscene or indecent, coolers, costume masks, fireworks, folding chairs, food in a portion larger than a clear, one gallon size bag, inflatables, illegal drugs, laser pointers, luggage, noise makers, poles or sticks of any kind, skateboards, roller skates, roller shoes, bicycles, wagons for children, tripods, bipods, or monopods, weapons, and any other item deemed inappropriate of hazardous by ballpark security.

  • From I-45 North traveling South (To Minute Maid Park/Union Station/West End from): Continue south until you reach I-10 – Exit on to I-10 East – Quickly merge on to US-59 South – Exit Hamilton/Downtown Destinations and continue on Hamilton straight to Capitol – Turn right onto Capital, then right onto Crawford – Union Station is at the intersection of Texas and Crawford.
  • From I-45 North traveling South (To Minute Maid Park/Diamond Club Lot/East End from):Continue south until you reach I-10 – Exit on to I-10 East – Quickly merge on to US-59 South – Quickly exit Hamilton/Downtown Destinations and continue straight to Preston – At Hamilton and Preston, you will take a right into the Diamond Club parking lot – If you intersect with Texas Ave., you’ve gone too far.
  • From I-45 South traveling North (To Minute Maid Park/Union Station/West End from):Traveling North, exit Scott/Downtown Destinations – Continue on to Downtown Destinations/St. Joseph Parkway/Pease – Continue West onto St. Joseph Parkway or Pease – Turn right on to Chartres.   • July 13, 2004, Minute Maid Park hosted the 2004 Major League Baseball All-Star Game.
  • October 9, 2005, Minute Maid Park hosted the longest postseason game in MLB history.
  • October 25, 2005, Minute Maid Park hosted the first World Series game ever played in Texas, and the longest World Series games ever played.
  • June 28, 2007, Craig Biggio hit his 3000th career hit, the first Astro to do so.
  • September 30, 2007, Craig Biggio’s last game of his career, Minute Maid Park hit the highest attendance in its eight-year history by selling 43,823 tickets, 107% of its capacity.
  • April 5, 2010, opening day of Minute Maid Park surpassed its highest attendance total by selling 43,836 tickets. 13 more tickets than its previous record.
  • 2006 hosted the first leg of the quarterfinal between Portmore United of Jamaica and Club America of Mexico.
  • Minute Maid Park is the host of the Houston College Classic college baseball.
  • In 2008, Madonna performed a concert as part of her Sticky and Sweet Tour.
