2022 Olympic & Paralympic Day
Houston (June 22, 2022) – The spirit of the Olympic & Paralympic movement will roll into Houston as the Harris County – Houston Sports Authority hosts 2022 Olympic & Paralympic Day this Thursday, June 23. Olympic & Paralympic Day, created in 1948 to commemorate the birth of the modern Olympic & Paralympic Games, focuses on the Olympic values and ideals such as fair play, perseverance, respect, and sportsmanship.
The day will consist of Houston Olympians & Paralympians from the United States Olympic & Paralympic Association teaching over 250 children how to play various sports, including tennis, baseball, track and field, taekwondo, boxing, gymnastics, bobsled, basketball, and sitting volleyball. The event is designed to engage youth and promote the ideals of the Olympic movement. The day will feature athlete appearances, lunch, autographs, and an Olympian & Paralympian Q&A session hosted by event MC, KHOU Daniel Gotera.
