HOUSTON (Thursday, September 7, 2023) – The College Football Playoff (CFP), College Football Playoff Foundation and the Houston 2024 Host Committee officially opened registration for the Trophy Trot fun runs today.  

 Formerly the Extra Yard 5K, the 2024 edition of the Trophy Trot will be held on Sunday, January 7 in the heart of downtown Houston and, for the first time, will feature both the 5K and 10K distances.  

Interested participants can register for the 5K for a $35 entry fee, while those who wish to participate in the 10K race can do so for $45 through Sunday, December 10.  

 Each Trophy Trot participant will receive a t-shirt and finisher’s medal, and there will be an opportunity for participants to win a pair of tickets to the national championship game, on Monday, January 8, 2024, at NRG Stadium. 

 All proceeds from the Trophy Trot benefit Extra Yard for Teachers, the College Football Playoff Foundation’s primary platform that elevates the teaching profession by inspiring and empowering quality teachers.
